The lab of Dr. Samie Jaffrey is seeking postdocs to study how gene expression is regulated by dynamic nucleotide modifications in RNA. We generated the first transcriptome-wide maps of m6A (N6-methyladenosine), which is credited as beginning the field of epitranscriptomics. We are actively exploring the signaling pathways and biochemical mechanisms that control the levels of m6A mRNA and the pathways that activate the m6A “writer complex”. We use molecular biology, CRISPR, imaging, bioinformatic, chemical biology, and cancer-based approaches. Apply: jaffreylab2@gmail.com.
