Mobile app helps reduce readmissions for colorectal patients

Matthew Symer, M.D.

Matthew Symer, M.D., a clinical research fellow and general surgery resident at Weill Cornell Medicine, talks to Gastroenterology and Endoscopy News about his new study on mobile apps and colorectal surgery patients at the 2017 Digestive Disease Week in Chicago (abstract 390). He said the app was designed to help reduce readmissions.

Dr. Symer's study, "Pilot Study of a Novel Mobile Health App to Track Patients After GI Surgery" was published in the April 2017 issue of Gastroenterology.
