MCC Researchers Receive Prostate Cancer Foundation 2017 Challenge Awards

Two of the 2017 Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) Challenge Awards were awarded to teams including Meyer Cancer Center investigators.

  • Optimization of Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen-Targeted Radiation ($1 million): Scott Tagawa, M.D., Neil Bander, M.D., and Shankar Vallabhajosula, Ph.D., will conduct clinical trials to test the efficacy of promising new PSMA-targeted radiation-emitting treatments in advanced prostate cancer.
  • Targeting BRN2 in Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer ($1 million): Amina Zoubeidi, Ph.D., (University of British Columbia) and Himisha Beltran, M.D., (Weill Cornell Medicine) will develop a novel therapy targeting BRN2, a driver of the highly aggressive neuroendocrine subtype of prostate cancer, and will develop biomarkers to identify patients who may benefit from this treatment.
